Case Knives Unveils 2023 Collection at Shot Show, January 17-20, Honoring Brand Legacy with Four New Knife Families.

New Modern EDC Westline®, Popular Kinzua® Returns with New Custom Deco Options, Small Congress Returns from the Case Vault, Fixed Blades, and a Vintage Bone family with Ladder Damascus Steel Blades Round Out New Offerings

BRADFORD, Penn. – January 16, 2023 – W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company (Case), a leading manufacturer of premium knives, today announced four new knife families launching at S.H.O.T. Show 2023, January 17-20 in Las Vegas. The collection includes: specialty handles and blades for the Kinzua; new fixed blade entries; the return of the iconic Small Congress (‘68 pattern); and a new vintage bone family featuring ladder patterned Damascus blades. Knives will arrive at retail and be available online in early spring 2023.

The Case Custom Kinzua® series is for knife fans who want a modern EDC with a unique look that reflects their personal interests and style. Each offering in the series features uniquely themed artwork that’s amped up with hi-tech durable finishes like Cerakote® and Diamond-Like Carbon coatings (DLC). These new one-handed opening knives feature an S35VN Tanto or Spear blade and handle made of tough, lightweight aluminum. Its flip-open design offers quick, reliable deployment with a simple flip of your index finger. And the reversible steel pocket clip allows for a comfortable, confident deep pocket carrying experience. The Kinzua is a part of a collection of Modern Everyday Carry knives that are crafted in our Bradford, PA factory. 

Case is reintroducing its Small Congress ('68 pattern) back into the Case product lineup with an initial collection that offers 21 unique handle options. This Case XX® Vault program has been met with great expectations each year by knife enthusiasts of all types since its official launch in January 2008. It offers casual Case hobbyists and collector-minded fans with an opportunity to find missing knives that may have eluded them in the past. Case’s continuous engineering and production improvements enhance overall consumer appeal of reintroduced patterns. The Small Congress (’68 pattern) pocket folding knife features a sheepsfoot blade with spear, pen and coping blades made of mirror polished steel, with French nail nicks for easy opening. Two-bladed models are fitted with opposing sheepfoot and pen blades. Each measures 3 1/8 inches closed. 

Beautifully rugged, Case’s new series of hardwood composite handled fixed blades are ready for the field right out of the box. Whether seeking the next blade for the hunt or a handy tool for a weekend excursion, the 4.45-inch satin finished 420HC stainless steel drop point blade can withstand corrosion while keeping its edge. With multiple hardwood handle color shade options and a reliable sheath to secure the knife when not in use, these knives are built to last.

The Westline® has an impressive mix of modern features that are hard to find in today’s competitive market. The knife is fully equipped with a stonewash finish modified drop point blade made of tough S35VN stainless steel, hard anodized aluminum scales that feel just right, an ambidextrous thumb stud and a dependably quick assisted open-and-lock mechanism. The steel clip is removable and can be attached to either side of the knife for everyday carrying. Available in red, black, blue and silver, the Westline is the company’s first assisted-opening modern EDC knife to be made in its Bradford, Pennsylvania facility using their newest high-tech manufacturing equipment.

There’s real craftsmanship built into Case’s new, decadent Vintage Bone Ladder Damascus knives, with features that embody nearly a thousand years of knife making history. The contrasting bright and dark striations on the Ladder patterned Carbon Damascus blades have a look that hearkens back from the earliest Damascus steel craftsmen of the Crusades. Vintage Bone handles and a Coat of Arms shield underscore the Case family’s prominence to American knife making throughout the 20th century that continues today.
