On Wednesday, October 1st, Zippo and Case were presented with two honorary awards by Brigadier General Francis R. Montgomery of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard, along with the representatives from the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), an organization belonging to the Department of Defense (aka Department of War) that helps "Service members, employers, and members of the military chain of command understand and support each other's rights and responsibilities."

Presented first was the ESGR's Above and Beyond Award, for our companies’ “outstanding service and continuing support to the National defense.” The ESGR’s Seven Seals Award presentation followed “for meritorious leadership and initiative in support of the men and women who serve America in the National Guard and Reserve.”

Additionally, two Zippo employees from our Human Resources team, Ed Hayden and Renee Mika, each received ESGR’s Patriot Award, for “contributing to national security and protecting liberty and freedoms by supporting employee participation in America’s National Guard and Reserve Forces.” The two were nominated by Zippo coworker Erick Scott, a customer outreach team member and specialist with the 1st Battalion, 112th Infantry Regiment’s 56th Stryker Brigade Combat Team.

Zippo and Case are incredibly proud to support its employees who also serve with our nation's Armed Service and thankful for our support staff who provide dependable and thoughtful assistance with the array of employment-related issues that can arise.
