Three Marilla™ knives with the BLADE® Show American-Made Knife of the Year Award

BRADFORD, Penn. June 10, 2021 With a much-anticipated new product launch at the recent BLADE Show, the largest consumer and trade show for the knife industry, W.R. Case & Sons Cutlery Company earned the prestigious BLADE® Magazine “American-Made Knife of the Year®” Award for its new entry into Everyday Carry (EDC) category with the MarillaTM. The Marilla, engineered and assembled in the company’s only factory in Bradford, Pennsylvania, brings the Case brand's 130-year legacy to the modern everyday carry segment, enabling Case to introduce new consumers to the brand, its heritage and technology prowess.

“Winning a BLADE Magazine Award is one of the highest honors in our industry, and we’re thrilled to have been recognized for our emergence into the modern EDC space,” said John Sicher, executive vice president of marketing and innovation for Case. “Our teams worked incredibly hard to prepare for Marilla’s launch. We are extremely proud of the thoughtful design choices from our innovation team and the new technology that’s been so quickly adopted by our engineers and manufacturing teams. The excitement shared by Case dealers, consumers, and industry insiders at the show has been truly inspiring. This award further validates the work we are doing to provide new, modern knife options for consumers, in addition to our traditional folders and fixed blades, all from under our own roof.

Representatives from BLADE (www.blademag.com) distributed BLADE Magazine Knife of the Year awards in 11 categories, plus awards for individuals’ career achievements. All entrants in the Knife of the Year competition were evaluated by a super panel of undisclosed judges on a number of factors, including utility, design, creativity, materials, aesthetics, feel and other traits.

The Marilla incorporates contemporary materials like a high quality S35VN stainless steel blade and hard anodized aluminum handles that can stand up to the rigors of hard work. Engineered with a one-handed flipper opening for quick and reliable deployment, the Marilla’s drop point blade boasts a rounded edge and gimping along the spine for extra control when needed. Available in black, red, and blue, the Marilla retails for $165 and will be available via Case retailers in Summer and online following at caseknives.com.
